  7. The DCM communications subsystem provides message storing and forwarding and
  8. newswire monitoring.  It is primarily used by newspaper publishers and news
  9. gathering services for providing information interchange with remotely-located
  10. reporters using standard dial-up modems.  Using PC's, reporters can dial into
  11. the system and file stories, receive messages and search and download newswire
  12. stories.  The system includes a message interface to external systems such as
